Special Notices

St. John's will be hosting a special candlelight Christmas Eve service Monday December 24th at 8PM. Please arrive early as we will have a special music program beginning at 7:45. Enjoy the sacred space of St. John's and let God fill you with the peace that only he is able to give. It is because of the birth of Jesus that we have such a holy day - without that, the whole significance of the day is lost. Bring a friend!

Founded in Richmond Hill in 1903 to bring the good news of the gospel to our community. The congregation is a member of the Metropolitan New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Each Sunday the Reverend Robert G. Sonnenberg offers an inspiring gospel centered sermon and the congregation responds with its praises singing the liturgy and hymns. Our organist plays on the church's original 25 rank pipe organ.
We share our facilities with the other local congregations that desire to  spread the Word of Christ.

Furthering our community outreach, we offer New York Department of Education's Universal Pre-K program for four-year-olds as well as the Saint John's Private School with part-time and full day programs. Specialized tutoring is available for students at affordable rates. AA programs and other associations are found in the church as well.

Our newly renovated banquet hall is available for your special event.

We would love to have you stop by. Come worship with us, share our 110th anniversary see our historic building and join our congregation.  We have Sunday School available for your children to attend while you enjoy our Service.
